Setting Up Apple Watch and HealthKit

Feelmo is an iPhone app for reviewing Apple Watch / HealthKit records in a clearer morning view. This guide takes you through the initial setup.

Balance is an in-product display that uses proprietary on-device processing to summarize HRV-derived information available through Apple Watch / HealthKit and patterns in your own past. Processing and display rules are not public. It does not directly measure autonomic function, emotion, fatigue, stress, recovery, or health.

What you need

  • A compatible iPhone
  • Apple Watch paired with that iPhone
  • The Feelmo app

Without Apple Watch, you can still use features such as guided breathing and supported manual records. The Balance display requires permitted, compatible Apple Watch / HealthKit records.

Initial setup

1. Pair Apple Watch with iPhone

Complete pairing in Apple's Watch app. Also check that Apple Watch records appear in the Health app on your iPhone.

2. Install Feelmo

Get Feelmo from the App Store and follow the in-app introduction. You can begin without creating an account.

3. Choose HealthKit permissions

Feelmo explains the requested Health categories and purposes before asking for permission. You can decide category by category and change access later.

iPhone Settings or Health → Apps and Services → Feelmo

Screens associated with a category may be unavailable or limited when permission is not granted.

4. Use Apple Watch normally

If you want to review overnight records, wear Apple Watch at night when practical. Charge it before bed and follow Apple's guidance for a suitable band fit.

The optical wrist sensor is affected by movement, fit, skin contact, hardware, and software. Error and missing data can remain at rest or during sleep, and a wearable is not equivalent to a clinical ECG or sleep study.

5. Open Feelmo in the morning

When compatible records are available, you can review them across Feelmo's screens. Content and update timing may vary with HealthKit record availability and other conditions.

The six companions are product characters, not a mood you entered or an AI determination of emotion or condition. Character-display rules are not public.

What can I review after setup?

  • Supported HRV, heart-rate, sleep, and other records available in Apple Watch / HealthKit
  • Feelmo's proprietary Balance display and product characters
  • Your optional notes and habit records
  • Guided breathing and longer look-back views

Each record has measurement limitations. Do not infer illness, stress, autonomic function, fatigue, recovery, or exercise safety from one number or character.

If a display does not appear

  1. Check that Apple Watch is connected to the iPhone.
  2. Check for recent records in the Health app.
  3. Review Feelmo's HealthKit permissions.
  4. Reopen Feelmo.
  5. Install available updates for iOS, watchOS, and Feelmo.

Detailed display and update rules are not public. A missing display does not establish poor health, and a visible display does not guarantee accuracy or health. See When Balance does not appear for more help.

Where is my data handled?

Feelmo processes HRV-derived data and Balance on device and does not automatically send them to Provider servers. If you start an export or share, selected content goes to your chosen destination. Apple storage and syncing follow your settings. See Data and privacy.

Not for medical decisions

Feelmo is not a medical device and does not diagnose or treat conditions. Seek qualified medical advice for concerning or persistent symptoms regardless of the display.
