Habit Association Patterns (Premium)

Habit Association Patterns compares your next-morning Balance on days with a habit against days without it, using only your own records. It shows correlations in those records; it does not prove that the habit caused an effect.

You'll find it inside the Kokoro Report, under "This week's insight," as the habit with the largest observed difference in your records. Open it from Trend → Kokoro Report.

Think of it like this

Imagine comparing mornings after nights with a warm drink against mornings after nights without one. Feelmo makes that same comparison for records such as breathing, a short walk, sleep, or daylight.

Why look only at "just you"?

Population averages and associations in your own records are different things. Sleep, stress, timing, and many other factors overlap, so Feelmo presents a within-person difference as a modest clue.

This is an n-of-1 (within-person) comparison. Because it uses everyday observational records, it is not a causal analysis and does not establish what produced the difference.

How does it check?

It looks at the habits you keep — a breathing exercise, a short walk, sleep, some daylight — and gathers two kinds of day:

  • The next-morning condition on days you kept a habit
  • The next-morning condition on days you didn't

It compares the two groups within your records when enough days are available on each side. Stability and accuracy are not guaranteed, and other factors may influence the observed difference.

(The "heart balance" used here is a gentle gauge of how settled your nervous system is, built from the heart-rate variability your Apple Watch reads. Lower means more wavering, higher means more settled — a measuring stick that's yours alone.)

How to read it (three honest ways)

  • While it's still gathering … As long as either kind of day is few, it shows no numbers — just the days collected so far and a rough sense of the trend. That's breathing room, so you're never rushed.
  • When a clear difference shows … Only once the result is steady enough to read with confidence, and it can say which way things leaned, does it show a difference like "about +◯." It means "within your own records, the days you kept it up look a little higher the next morning."
  • When it can't tell … Short of that, it honestly says, "The difference isn't clear yet." A result of no clear difference is a fine answer in its own right.

Why are there days with no number?

So it never forces a "works / doesn't work" verdict out of a fuzzy clue. While it still can't say whether things went up or down, Feelmo deliberately holds the number back and waits. A blank isn't a bug — it's honesty.

It doesn't rush the answer

This analysis is very modest.

  • It stays quiet until enough records gather, and keeps the number hidden while it still can't say which way things leaned.
  • More records can provide more comparison days, but do not guarantee greater stability or accuracy.
  • It isn't here to declare a black-and-white "works / doesn't work," but to gently point at whether something seems worth keeping up.

It's a comparison — not a fortune, and not a proof

  • It reads from your everyday records, so plenty of other things are mixed in alongside the habit itself.
  • Your daily condition sways with countless things — sleep, weather, your schedule, how you feel. Reasons other than the habit may be part of the picture.
  • Even if "the morning after I walked runs a little higher" shows up, that's a clue, not proof that the habit caused it — correlation, not causation. Glance at it lightly; if you feel like keeping it up, do — that's plenty.
